Hello TPM351
The last post by Darrcoll appears to have been back nearly three years ago. Hope he's ok.
I don't believe it was anything I said  Sad

Hi Guys, yes been away for awhile, still have a look but have no boat Cry US NAVY is located near hunters hill, usually under covers. The owner is the Pilot the just landed  the QANTAS A380 with the engine explosion. Nice guy. There is another one located on the eastern side of the Gladesvile bridge, looks sad but would be a great project.

Keep up the good work. love tho old boats.

The A380 pilot  Robert De Crespigny appeared on 60 Minutes tonight (a programme I wouldn't normally watch) but apart from the facinating story of the near air disaster there was quite a bit of footage of his 'U.S.Navy' with his family onboard on Sydney Harbour .
Flying the American flag ?

Re the yankee flag Neil... This time last year, I read Peter's book "QF34". I recall in Peters book he had a picture of "THE" Neil Armstrong on the Bow of his boat, whilst Peter and his family were crusing around Sydney Harbour. Perhaps that's why Peter was flying the yankee flag?

Coincidently, Peter De Crespigny was the pilot of our A380 when MERCMUM and I flew to London in Sept 2013. (Yes, it's a small world)

Yeah Guy . Guess he is entitled to be a Yankeephile .
I did correct my post to Richard so your pilot was probably his grandfather  Grin
Check out the De Crespigny family history !!!

Looks like they are only building about 700 A380 s instead of a planned 3000 . No new orders this year  Sad

Speaking of travel we will be in Europe and the U.S. next year and I will be in London , Washington and Chicago all on my 70th .
Where shall we meet for a Crownie ?

I have egg on my face Neil... Peter De Crespigny was a customer of mine in Toowoomba, way back in the mid 70's.
Yes indeed, my post should have read Richard.

Goodness, sounds like a great trip. We'll be in Asia early 2015, perhaps Tahiti again, later on in the year? We are certainly hooked on the joint.

....but you didn't say where we will meet for a beer. I'll be in all those cities on the one day , on the way to do Route 66 from Chicago to L.A.,  Smiley

Hi lads. To clarify the name of the boat and Yankee flag.  It's simple as Richards wife is American. . Also before they call the boat us navy waterways would pull them up all the time. Name change and never been pulled over since.  Clever. .
