Magnificent work Daryl, I'm very impressed with your timberwork.
It certainly suits the boat.
The spray job looks great, especially with the two colours which can be tricky.
It's easy to see you are a tradesman.

I agree
I love splashes of wood on F/G boats. You see it on larger vintage boats like
Bertrams and the Haines, but I think you've started a trend on smaller Runabouts
Bravo!

Hi Guys , Latest update, I have found an early model 85 hp evinrude 4cly to go on the Dart,, will be a while till its fitted but I think it will fly quite nicely,, Think the year is late 70's, will find out and get back to you.. Hopefully on the water by xmas,,, have to respray the cowling and do some tidying of the motor, Mechanically i think she is A1, some parts I can see eg. tilt trim has new hoses so i think the old girl has had a good life,, No siezed parts as she came off the other boat so no breakages... have motor stored for now, next time i visit it will get some pics of the before status..
Keep on Boating

Howdy.
darrcoll you are giving me some Ideas, I also have the same project which I just begun a couple of weeks ago. First time boat restorations as well. So it will be interesting to see how it turns out.
I've currently got a 65HP evinrude on it. But might be coming into a 85 or 115 Merc.
Ive just finished remove all the parts and sanding back the top. The previous owner was silicon mad. So its been a painful job getting all that off.

A little unleaded brushed onto silicon makes it fry up and is much easier to remove. May take a few applications.
There is also a new product called Silicone Off or Silicone Away or similar that is purportedly quite good. I haven't tried it myself as yet so can't ciomment personally. Obviously be carefiul if you go the unleaded route!!!
Welcome to the board Vanny.

A lot of scrapping, and a dab of turps finally cleaned it up. Now to get it ready for painting, and fill in all the screw holes that the previous owner drilled for pointless reasons
