Hi
I'm looking for info on a mallard outboard. British made and pretty old.
Can anyone tell me anything about it?
I have had it sitting in my garage for many years.
Thanks

Hi Ian,
Welcome to "The Board." You've got me on that one. Never heard of a Mallard. Probably brought to Australia in small quantities and will be rare here. IT must be of reasonably quality if it's not Australian made. How about posting a photo or two for us. You might have to search the UK for info. Try this internet site and see where it leads.
Cheers, Mark S.

Weird .
They may be looking for the Mallard seaplane or the mallard duck . There would be other mallards I'm sure .

Why viewers and no posts ?

Hi guys,

There are quite a few UK built Mallard outboards in Australia. In fact if you keep an eye on eBay or Gumtree, you'll see one or two pop up every 6 months of so. Price as always is subject to condition, with most selling in the $100-$150 range.

A friend in NSW picked up an excellent example 2 weeks ago (eBay purchase) for $175.00. Earlier this year a friend in WA picked up an equally good unit for $125.00 via Gumtree.

Hope that helps.

Where are you located Ian?

Regards,
Spiro

The other famous Mallard is the British Railway locomotive of the 1930's .Maybe the search engines were serching this engine.

Guy when were all the views done ? At one time .
