Hi All,

haven't been active on the site for a while, however I have enjoyed catching up on a few posts this evening.

Thought I would add a photo of our 67  Caribbean Galaxy, including Grandson enjoying an afternoon on the Noosa river.
Still never seen another galaxy 'up here'.

Cheers Spritely

Hi mate,
Great to hear from you.

The first Galaxy I ever saw was back in 1966 when the biggest Merc you could buy was 110hp.

That rig must have soild grunt with a V6 150hp bolted to the transom?
What pitch prop are you running?
From memory, the 1985 150hp V6 had the 2:1 gearbox ratio.

Hi Mercman,

I wish I still had the original 950 that was on the Galaxy originally, unfortunately there is only so much you can move north interstate. As you may remember I broke 2 115 Blueband cranks!! So that was the end of my 'Tower of power' days.

The 150 V6 is beautiful, quick and reliable. No longer uses oil injection, however per mix 2 stroke is no problem.

It is a little heavy on the back, however she gets up and goes well. From memory it's a 17 pitch prop. Can't tell you about the gear ratio, all I rember it was a new gear set when I purchased the unit from Don at Advantage Marine around 5 years ago.

It's still such a fun family Ski, Cruiser, fishing or blast boat.
Cheers Spritely
