Purchased this Pride Runabout and have absolutely no idea of particulars....Manufactures Sticker/Labels/Tags are no longer and only real clue is the only Tag present is a registration tag was issued by "The Launceston Marine Board" (Tasmania) which from research appears to have finished up roughly around 1968? Another anomaly is the boats length! only 12 feet, Previous owner claims this had been stored and said at one point it had a 50HP......

All help would be greatly appreciated, finding it difficult at the moment to gather enough suitable/reliable information to proceed with transfer/rego.

Can post more pics if needed tomorrow, Cheers in advance....

What a beauty,
A pic showing the bow end would be good. Our member Mark S might be able to add some light. Here's another one

Cheers for that, It has so far proved difficult to locate any info on these early Pride Boats, so I'm stoked to have found this site, looks to be a lifetime of useful info/advice available here, have a couple more pics...... extremely grateful for any advice and info, thanks....

Now let the hunt begin for similar era outboard  Smiley   (imagine new seats are in order also, otherwise boat is basically excellent!)

Anyone want to take their best guess at year of manufacture? ...... Most of my online reaseach/info suggest possible mid 70's to as old as early 60's, can't wait to one day meet the old dude at the boat ramp that will  shed light on this.

Welcome Pride Proud.
A nice find, and I can imagine your frustration being unable to get more information about it.

There is a clue:  the hooded speedo housing (or is it tach?) with the two wings each side came out in the early 1960s and I believe was only available for a few years before being updated. I have a brochure somewhere (and a good set of 2 large and 4 small matching instruments as a set) but for the moment can't even think of the USA manufacturer's name.  Everything is stacked away while renovating/extending, so I can't get at it just now.
My guess is therefor early to mid '60s.

With 50hp that little boat would fly!  Suggest anything from 25/30 up.  Johnson/Evinrude had a 2-cylinder 40 or 50hp which I have read many good reports (on US sites) for being reliable, easy to tune, almost bullet-proof and with a strong gearbox.

Good luck on finding more info.   Give it time, it will happen.
