Hi Guys
I am so happy to find some info on my boat (savage javelin), I Bought it about a year ago and re did the floor and Transom (not my original intention) although I had fun doing it itís a hard job as I didnít take the outside of the transom off! I Love the Style and was boat struck as soon as my wife and I found it, the owner had it from nearly new and before that his next-door neighbor had it from new. The Service shop that has done all the work on it is still there and the Man who runs the shop knows the Boat well. It goes great on the water with its 50hp Blue Band Merc.
I would love any info I can get on the boat's I have been looking for a whole 12 months without any luck until now so im a bit excited. Savage were not a great help and said they lost there info on the model in a factory fire. I have been looking at an American site http://www.fiberglassics.com/default.htm which is full of classic fiber glass boats from the 50's and 60's. well I look forward to any correspondence in the future. (sorry tried to post a photo but have no idea how)

Good to hear about your Javelin.
Here's the link to the one sold on the board awhile back to Rolf. http://board.net.au/yabbse/index.php?topic=82.0 . I restored this boat and was very interested in Javelins at the time. I have some boating magazine write ups on this model, but I'll have to find them first. When I do, I'll post them for you. In the meantime here are some more pics of mine prior selling it to the webmaster Rolf. If you have any pictures of yours, we'd love to see them. What colour is it?

Great looking boat. We mainly only see the red ones here, but the blue looks fabulous.
I did the floor on mine also, but didn't have to touch the transom. I see you have put on a longshaft. Any reason for that?
The guy I bought my Javelin from was a bit of a maniac. He made a plate for the transom and wacked a 225hp honda outboard on it. I can't remember how he said it went, but I bet he didn't get it upto full speed. Here's a pic af it on the day of purchase. Notice the dirty mark where he had the steel extension bracket.

The long shaft conversion was done by the previous owner, he did say why he changed motors ( i think just to up size) but the longshaft has been on there since new. i was a bit worried about the transom extension but if it has lasted† 30years without a problem..........
What year do you think it is? the name plate has very little info, not even max H.P which i assumed 95ish and am very surprised to hear about the 225H.P† MAD! i will get some photos of it in the water (i have heaps FROM the boat in the water) i will keep you posted

Javelin,
I'm not good on the later motors, I'm more clued up on vintage stuff. Maybe another member will know, but I think it's a lot earlier than 95 as the later ones became squarer before they took up the curved lines. Surely your mechanic would know.

That's ok, I should have looked harder. I think the boat is about 1967 or 68, When I find the magazine with it featured, I'll know for sure.
