Hi All,

I am trying to remove the leg on my chrysler. I spoke to the local service agent for chrysler(Creek Marine in Brisbane). He said to undo the four bolts, lower the leg 1/2 inch and there should be a cotter/split pin holding the gear selector shaft together.

Well i did that but all I can see 2 coupler nuts(see photo's) that will only turn a few turns in either direction. I think these may be adjustments for forward and reverse.

Anyone have any ideas. Do I need to remove the ou leg covers and disconnect something in there.

Also anyone know a good upholsterer in brisbane to do some back to back seats.

Cheers

Michael.

Remove the covers and there is a similar gearshift connection in there. The book says that's the one you have to undo. Yes the gearshift has to be reset after assembly at this connector. Disconnect the gearshift cable from the outboard when resetting the shift adjustment. If in doubt favour forward gear.

Only later model Chryslers had the cotter pin that you were told of. Your model was made prior to this.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for that. You are correct. Once i took the covers off there was another linkage inside.

Cheers
